Broccoli and thick fried tofu with egg mayonnaise

Ingredients (for 2 servings)
  • Thick deep-fried tofu

    1 (100g)

  • Broccoli (can be frozen broccoli)

    80g

  • Kadoya roasted sesame oil

    1 teaspoon

  • [A] Soy sauce

    1/2 tablespoon

  • [A] Kadoya roasted sesame oil

    1/2 teaspoon

  • [A] Salt

    2 pinches

  • Egg

    1

  • Mayonnaise

    A dash

  • Black pepper

    A pinch

Directions
  • Wrap deep-fried tofu in paper towels to remove water and oil and cut into 12 equal pieces.

  • Cut broccoli into small bunches. (If using frozen broccoli, defrost in microwave and drain.)

  • Put (1) deep-fried tofu and (2) broccoli in a heat-proof bowl and pour sesame oil over them. Cover with plastic wrap and microwave (600W) for 3 minutes.

  • Drain off the water from (3), place on a baking dish with the center left open, and sprinkle with [A]. Drop an egg into the center and stick a toothpick into the yolk in 4 or 5 places. Cover with plastic wrap and microwave (600W) for 1 minute. Heat in additional 20-second increments, keeping an eye on it, until the desired level of semi-crookedness is obtained.

  • Put mayonnaise on and sprinkle black pepper.
